A Map on which the place of the first kiss or the favorite band’s concert is marked – this is what StadtLandCut offers. For their filigree unique items owner Klaus Zimmermann uses kraftplex. In the course of his work he hears many personal stories.
When we try to make our way through unknown cities, we often tend to draw out our smartphones. Maps instead may seem a little bit antiquated. We trust apps to find orientation and very often they offer us additional information or images of the places we are looking for.
What those apps can not show: personal memories connected with a very special place. And this is where StadtLandCut comes in. Klaus Zimmermann, the founder of StadtLandCut, produces individually designed maps according to the exact requirements of his customers.
Filigree Artworks made out of kraftplex
As a material for the delicate art works kraftplex with 0,5mm thickness is used. “The material has convinced me because it is thin, stable and easy to work with.” explains Klaus Zimmermann. Also there were only few materials that could be lasered into such filigree structures. On top of that, the guy from Badem-Württemberg in Germany says that the wooden look of kraftplex, that consists of 100% cellulose fibre, to him seems “pretty cool”.
Because of their minimalist design the maps made with kraftplex are an absolute eye-catcher. “When it comes to handmade emotional wall decor, there’s no way around us.” says Klaus Zimmermann about his products. The childhood village, the town where you studied or a travelling destination can be arranged in style on the spare wall in your living room. The first kiss, that awesome concert or your wedding’s location: where those events took place exactly can be captured with a small marker. Those markers are available in many different shapes, e.g. in the shape of a heart, a house or a flower.
Beautiful and sad stories
Many times his clients get in touch with StadtLandCut, because they are looking for a special souvenir of their wedding. Because Klaus Zimmermann personally advises all of his clients, he hears a lot of personal stories. “A few days ago I received the request of a godfather. The location where the child has asked him whether he wanted to be his godfather will be marked with a star.” he reports.
Most of the stories were very beautiful, even though some were also very sad. “A few requests came from people, who had lost somebody. They wished for an artwork that represents a special place reminding them of that very special person.” says Klaus Zimmermann. The direct contact to his clients is something he values very highly. Therefore, StadtLandCut will never become a huge business. The personal connection with his customers is just too important to him.

Wer in unbekannten Städten unterwegs ist, zückt das Smartphone. Landkarten aus Papier benutzt heutzutage im Alltag kaum noch jemand. Stattdessen helfen Apps, sich zu orientieren und liefern gleich noch Infos und Bilder zu Orten in der Nähe.
Was Karten-Apps aber nicht zeigen: persönliche Erinnerungen, die wir mit einem ganz bestimmten Platz verbinden. Hier setzt Klaus Zimmermann an. Der Gründer von StadtLandCut fertigt individuelle Design-Karten ganz nach den Wünschen seiner Kundinnen und Kunden an.
Filigrane Kunstwerke aus Kraftplex
Als Material für die feingliedrigen Kunstwerke kommt Kraftplex in der Stärke 0,5 Millimeter zum Einsatz. „Das Material hat mich überzeugt, weil es dünn, stabil und einfach zu bearbeiten ist“, erklärt Klaus Zimmermann seine Wahl. Außerdem gebe es nur wenige Werkstoffe, die man so filigran lasern könne. Auch die Holzoptik von Kraftplex, das zu 100 Prozent aus Zellulose besteht, findet der Baden-Württemberger „ganz cool“.
Durch ihr minimalistisches Design sind die Karten aus Kraftplex echte Hingucker. „Wenn es um handgemachte Emotionen für die Wand geht, kommt man an unseren Laser Cuts nicht vorbei“, sagt Klaus Zimmermann über seine Produkte. Das Heimatdorf, die Studienstadt oder ein Reiseziel arrangiert man so stilvoll an der Wand im Wohnzimmer. Der erste Kuss, das tollste Konzert oder die Location der Hochzeitsfeier: Wo genau solche Ereignisse stattfanden, lässt sich mit einem Marker festhalten. Es gibt sie beispielsweise in Form eines Herzens, eines Hauses oder einer Blume.
Schöne und traurige Geschichten
Überwiegend wenden sich Kundinnen und Kunden an StadtLandCut, die sich eine besondere Erinnerung an ihre Hochzeit wünschen. Weil Klaus Zimmermann sie selbst berät, erfährt er viele persönliche Geschichten. „Gerade habe ich die Anfrage eines Patenonkels bekommen. Auf die Karte kommt ein Stern an die Stelle, wo ihn das Kind gefragt hat, ob er Pate sein möchte“, erzählt der Gründer.
Manche Geschichten seien super schön, manche super traurig. „Einige Anfragen kommen von Menschen, die jemanden verloren haben. Sie wünschen sich dann eine Markierung an einem schönen Ort, der sie an denjenigen erinnert“, sagt Klaus Zimmermann. Den direkten Kontakt zu Käuferinnen und Käufern schätzt er. StadtLandCut werde wohl niemals ein Millionenbusiness – dafür ist dem Gründer der persönliche Draht zu den Kundinnen und Kunden einfach zu wichtig.
